Changhong International has started construction on two 1800 TEU container ships.

On the afternoon of May 24, Zhoushan Changhong International Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. successfully commenced the construction of two 1008TEU container ships (CHB2001, CHB2002) for Malaysia's MTT Shipping Sdn. Bhd.
It is reported that the order for this series of ships was signed in November 2018, marking the first cooperation project between Changhong International and MTT SHIPPING. The total length of the ship is 172 meters, with a beam of 28.4 meters, a depth of 14.2 meters, and a designed draft of 8.5 meters, classified by DNV.GL. The design is intended for coastal service between East Malaysia and West Malaysia. The first ship is scheduled for delivery in October 2020.
