On the morning of September 8, Zhoushan Changhong International held a naming ceremony for the second 63500DWT bulk carrier (CHB045) delivered to Oman Shipping at the dock. The scene was lively with lion dance performances and a bustling crowd. More than a hundred guests, including representatives from the shipowner and classification society, attended the ceremony. Subsequently, Mr. Masoud, CEO of Sohar Aluminum, cut the cable to celebrate the new ship and named it 'JABAL SHAMS'. At the same time, the first whistle was sounded, wishing it to sail smoothly and safely for thousands of miles from now on.
'JABAL SHAMS' was started last year, with a total length of 199.9 meters, a depth of 18.5 meters, a width of 32.26 meters, and a draft of 13.3 meters, classified by Lloyd's Register of the UK. The ship was launched in July this year after being placed on the slipway in October last year, and its excellent construction quality has received high praise from the shipowner and ship inspection, laying a foundation for future cooperation between both parties. Currently, 'Changhong International' has a total of 7 vessels under construction, including 2300TEU container ships, 2700TEU container ships, and 1800TEU container ships.
The successful holding of the new ship naming ceremony has greatly boosted the confidence of all employees at Changhong. Changhong International will continue to work hard and embrace a new round of challenges.
