The eighth and ninth 5300 TEU container ships (CHB2025, CHB2026) were grandly named!

On September 23, 2024, at 13:58, Changhong International held a naming ceremony for the eighth (CHB2025) and ninth (CHB2026) 5300 TEU container ships of Greek owner NAVIOS at Pier 1.

The ceremony was attended by Ms. Angeliki Frangou, Chairman and CEO of NAVIOS Group, Mr. Shunji Sasada, President of NAVIOS Group, Mr. Rosleff Joergen, Chief Commercial Officer of NAVIOS, Ms. Tsironi Erifyli, Chief Financial Officer of NAVIOS, Ms. Babanara Georgia, Executive Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer of NAVIOS, Ms. Chara Papaefthymiou, Technical Director of NAVIOS, Mr. Ranck Morten, Fleet Director of Unifeeder, Mr. Li Hongwei, Chairman of Changhong International, Mr. Dai Jiming, President of Changhong International, Mr. Zhu Guiming, Vice President of Changhong International, representatives from DNV GL, ADK supervision company, Maiboh Shipping Brokerage, and China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation, as well as employees of Changhong International.

At the ceremony, Mr. Ranck Morten, Fleet Director of Unifeeder, named the new ship CHB2025 as "NAVIOS UTMOST," and Ms. Babanara Georgia, Executive Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer of NAVIOS, cut the ribbon.

Ms. Angeliki Frangou, Chairman and CEO of NAVIOS Group, named the ship CHB2026 as "NAVIOS UNITE," and Ms. Tsironi Erifyli, Chief Financial Officer of NAVIOS, cut the ribbon.

The 5300 TEU container ship project is the first collaboration between Changhong International and NAVIOS. Since the project commenced, Changhong's shipbuilding team has made significant progress in technical design, production planning, operational management, and frontline problem-solving. Currently, 7 ships have been successfully delivered and are operating well.

In his speech, Mr. Dai Jiming, President of Changhong International, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support from NAVIOS, Maiboh Shipping Brokerage, ADK, DNV GL, and China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation. He stated that the continuous delivery of this project will serve as an opportunity to deepen cooperation with all parties and lay a solid foundation for the successful delivery of the subsequent 10 LR2 tankers.

Afterwards, the guests took photos with the new ships and toured the vessels, wishing the new ships to sail smoothly and safely, bringing wealth and glory to the owners and partners.

On the evening of September 23, at the grand naming dinner, Mr. Li Hongwei, Chairman of Changhong International, delivered an enthusiastic speech. He pointed out that NAVIOS, as one of Changhong International's core clients, is a leader in all aspects of the industry. Being able to work with excellent shipowners is the best proof of Changhong International's progress. In the 5300 TEU container ship project, Changhong International has benchmarked against world-class standards, investing a lot of time and effort to achieve a win-win development for both parties.

Mr. Li looks forward to more opportunities for collaboration in the ship repair and modification field, jointly embracing a broad development prospect.

Ms. Angeliki Frangou delivered a speech, highly affirming the shipbuilding quality of Changhong International. She expressed her hope to continue maintaining a good cooperative relationship with Changhong International and to work together to achieve common goals and commitments.

Finally, guests exchanged gifts, symbolizing close cooperation in the future. During the event, a variety of performances added a joyful atmosphere to the dinner, and the guests enjoyed unforgettable moments.

The 5300 TEU container ship project consists of 10 ships, each approximately 237.8 meters long, 38.8 meters wide, and 21.8 meters deep, classified by DNV GL.
