On the morning of November 25th at 7 o'clock, amidst the sound of firecrackers, Nanhai No. 10 completed its dock repair and berthing operations, slowly untied the mooring ropes, and, escorted by tugboats, embarked on a new journey.

The platform was manufactured in Norway in 1976 and was purchased by CNOOC Oilfield Services Co., Ltd. Shanghai Branch in 2018. It entered the repair at CIMC Raffles at the end of July this year. The hull dimensions are 108.20 meters × 68.55 meters × 36.58 meters, with a working water depth of 457 meters, a drilling depth of 7620 meters, a total power of 7650 kilowatts, a maximum variable load of 3370 tons, and an operational draft of 21.34 meters. It is a platform that has made outstanding contributions to China's offshore oil exploration. Now, taking advantage of this special inspection, we are fortunate to uphold the benchmark for offshore platform repairs and move towards the industry's ceiling.

The special inspection and dock repair project for Nanhai No. 10 includes regular dock repairs, replacement of high-pressure pipelines, special coatings for cabins, indoor renovations, and maintenance of operational equipment, with a total repair period of 45 days. Due to the tight schedule and high technical content of this drilling platform repair, it poses significant challenges to CIMC Raffles in terms of quality control, technical capabilities, coordination of trades, and manpower allocation during construction, especially with a large volume of high-altitude work, which means that safety management standards must meet the requirements of state-owned enterprises.

The HSE management of this project platform is the responsibility of CIMC Raffles, with the platform side assisting, and other contractors complying with CIMC Raffles' unified management, conducting business in a safe and efficient manner, and striving for zero harm to personnel, zero damage to the environment, and zero loss of property.

Due to the special structure of the drilling platform, the risks of entering and exiting the dock are much higher than those of conventional ships. The positioning of the floating box, the coordination of tugboat towing, and the tidal height points are all significant challenges. At the same time, this has increased CIMC Raffles' experience in handling such vessels entering and exiting the dock, opening up the field for undertaking special ships.

During the cooperation period, both parties conducted many demonstrations of special equipment repairs and exchanged technical requirements, solidifying CIMC Raffles' foundation for offshore platform repairs.

After 45 days of hard work, the dock repair of this drilling platform was successfully completed, and the repair quality received high praise from both the platform side and senior management of CNOOC.

CIMC Raffles' first cooperation with CNOOC Services concluded perfectly, becoming a strategic partner for ship repairs of offshore platforms in the Yangtze River Basin ports. In the future, CIMC Raffles will surely maintain a proactive and enterprising development trend, continuously build a repair team capable of overcoming difficulties, and forge a repair brand for the enterprise.
