Two 5300 TEU container ships (CHB2014, CHB2025) have started construction.

On December 15 and December 23, Changhong International Shipyard ignited the construction of the seventh and eighth 5300TEU container ships CHB2014 and CHB2025 for the Greek shipowner NAVIOS MARITIME PARTNERS L. P.
The project includes a total of 10 ships of the same series, with 8 ships already started this year and 3 ships on the slipway.
The ship has a total length of approximately 237.8 meters, a beam of 38.8 meters, and a depth of 21.8 meters, and is classified by DNV. The design concept of this ship type overturns the traditional long and narrow design of container ships, optimizing the hull shape with a wide-body concept. The main dimensions are much smaller than current ships with the same container capacity, while the stability is significantly better than traditional container ships, and the ballast water requirements are greatly reduced compared to similar ships on the market, saving costs.
