Zhoushan Changhong International 15,000-ton lifting floating dock has commenced construction.

3Month12DayMorningIn the morning, Zhoushan Changhong International Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. started the construction of a 15,000-ton lifting floating dock for Taiwan's China Shipbuilding Corporation.Ignition and commencement.Chairman Han Bixiang of China Shipbuilding Corporation, along with his wife,Deputy General Manager Zhang Guoren,Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (NK),Ningbo Dongfang Ship Design Instituterepresentatives, leaders of the shipbuilding company, and project team members attended this simple yet grand commencement ceremony.
Thefloating dock is 160.00 meters long, 46.00 meters wide, 18.40 meters deep, with a lifting capacity of 15,000 long tons, and a submergence depth of 15 meters. It is designed by Ningbo Dongfang Ship Design Institute and, once completed, will be able to undertake dock repair projects for various types of bulk carriers and engineering vessels. This floating dock is classified by Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (NK).
Chairman Han and General Manager Dai both gave speeches at the ceremony. Chairman Han stated that China Shipbuilding Corporation visited several shipbuilding companies in the mainland and ultimately chose to cooperate with Zhoushan Changhong based on Changhong's scale and potential. He hopes that both parties can further communicate and explore through this cooperation, complementing each other's advantages and developing together.
It is reported that the 160-meter floating dock has a total of 73 sections, and the material cutting for 4 sections has been completed.
