Ensure quality, promote development, and create a high-quality small Ganer Bridge steel structure project.

The work in 2016 was exceptionally busy. At the moment of writing, the quality assurance department's staff had just accompanied the bridge supervisor to inspect the pretreatment system, and the special welding examination for the Xiaogan No. 2 Bridge was about to commence. It is evident that since the project started last year, the steel structure project of Xiaogan No. 2 Bridge in Zhoushan City (hereinafter referred to as the Xiaogan No. 2 Bridge project) has been progressing steadily and solidly.

As a large-scale livelihood project, it has garnered significant attention not only from the company's leadership, the cooperating unit Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry, and the general contractor China Aviation Second Construction Engineering, but also from relevant units such as the Zhoushan City government, the Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau, and the Municipal Quality Supervision Bureau, which have set high work requirements for this project. On the eve of the Spring Festival, the quality assurance department organized multiple discussions between the company's welding experts and the bridge project supervisors. After several months of professional technical assessments of the company's workshop facilities and on-site staff, a series of preliminary preparations such as project welding evaluation and construction guidelines were completed, laying a foundation for the smooth progress of the project after the holiday.

It is understood that the Xiaogan No. 2 Bridge project requires approximately 11,000 tons of steel plates, and over 6,000 tons of steel plates have already arrived. Due to the high demand for steel materials, the quality assurance department arranged for personnel from the non-destructive testing department and hull department to conduct on-site inspections of each batch of incoming steel plates in collaboration with the bridge supervisors, third-party inspectors, and experts from Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry. Especially for steel plates over 30mm, more than two UT tests are required, and only after passing can they enter the steel plate pretreatment process. For the roughness of steel plates after shot blasting in the pretreatment phase and the thickness of the paint film after the overall pretreatment, the quality assurance department arranged for quality personnel to conduct strict random checks, providing double assurance for the subsequent use of the steel plates. The supervisor of the Xiaogan No. 2 Bridge stated that good preliminary work in pretreatment can ensure the successful construction results of the Xiaogan No. 2 Bridge for a century and demonstrate Changhong International's high pursuit of product quality.

In the month after the New Year, experts at various levels from bridge owners, the Municipal Quality Supervision Bureau, China Aviation Second Construction Engineering, Wuhan Bridge Supervision, and related cooperative units visited the Xiaogan No. 2 Bridge project. Through communication with the company's leaders at all levels and on-site quality personnel, the experts affirmed the technical level of our company's staff and the quality results of our production projects, expressing eager expectations for the smooth completion of the Xiaogan No. 2 Bridge. To better implement the principle of 'ensuring quality and promoting development' among all construction personnel of the project, the quality assurance department also arranged for project specialists to conduct daily inspections and guidance on the construction site, ensuring that everything, from the angle of the break to the overall shaping of the plate units, remains within a reasonable error range.

It must be mentioned that according to the acceptance rules for the Xiaogan No. 2 Bridge, the gaps between the steel plate welds must be small, and the welds must be smooth. This requirement adds considerable difficulty to the subsequent polishing for the construction personnel. For the Changhong team, who strive for perfection and seek solutions for success, this is not a difficult task. The relevant person in charge of the quality assurance department developed a new construction plan based on the characteristics of the Xiaogan No. 2 Bridge, which has many small components and high welding requirements. They required staff to use special jigs for testing, tilting the components to a certain angle, ensuring that the welds meet the required size while achieving the smoothness of the welds in one go, thus saving labor costs in the production workshop.

To implement the quality requirements proposed by leaders at all levels, the quality assurance department and the bridge supervisors jointly determined the mandatory inspection requirements for the first piece of the Xiaogan No. 2 Bridge project. Currently, more than half of the mandatory inspections for the main beam standard segments have been completed before welding. The first batch of pre-welding inspections has successfully passed under the joint inspection of experts from the owner, third-party inspectors, supervisors, and China Aviation Second Construction Engineering. At present, the horizontal beams, small vertical beams, and non-suspension point beams manufactured in the processing workshop have all completed the mandatory inspections before welding, and the first batch of horizontal plates and non-suspension point beams have also completed the post-welding weld formation. The first batch of side plate units has passed the post-welding MT inspection.

As of now, the manufacturing workshop has completed the production of box beam units and the bridge pre-assembly jigs. It is expected that in April, there will be a large batch of high-quality and more complete second bridge structures produced, and the demand for quality assurance will become more complex and numerous. With the attention of relevant units such as the Zhoushan City government, the Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau, and the Municipal Quality Supervision Bureau, the company will organize more manpower for more in-depth and comprehensive quality control and assurance.
