On the morning of August 13, amidst the loud sound of firecrackers, the construction of the southern bridge deck of the Xiaogan No. 2 Bridge officially began. The familiar scene is vivid in my mind, and it feels like just yesterday that the northern bridge deck started construction. In less than two months, we overcame harsh conditions and a difficult environment, basically completing the loading of the northern bridge anchorage area, and the subsequent journey has already begun.

The construction conditions on the Xiaogan Island side are not ideal. It is only connected to the main island side by the Xiaogan No. 1 Bridge, and large-tonnage transport vehicles cannot pass. Large-volume materials need to be transported by ferry to reach the opposite shore, but the ferry is greatly affected by tides and other issues. The production site can only coordinate the departure time based on the actual situation of the transport ship to unload during the time when cranes are available, ensuring that components arrive smoothly for assembly. On the other hand, the site on the Xiaogan Island side is muddy and unstable; all external lifting relies on truck cranes, which are limited by the site and boom length. To improve crane work efficiency, the shipbuilding department, along with management personnel from various departments, carefully organized and reasonably optimized the order of material entry. Construction personnel worked overtime, produced meticulously, and ensured the continuity of production. Especially the optimization of the site work had high requirements for our production plan. We brainstormed to ensure that components were completed on time, allowing the entire production chain to run smoothly.

While ensuring production, strict safety management is enforced on site. The external construction conditions are not as good as those inside, with many limiting factors. Fu Dafei, the head of the shipbuilding department, introduced, "On-site management personnel conduct safety hazard inspections every day. If the safety passage does not meet requirements, safety ropes are pulled according to the site situation; if the distribution box malfunctions, a leakage protection device is installed immediately; if ventilation is insufficient, a ventilator is sought; if there are hazards with the guardrails, we find materials to make them on site... In short, we will not overlook any potential hazards, which is also the mindset we all have while working." In addition, company leaders also travel back and forth to the site amidst their busy schedules, providing many guiding suggestions.

"It is worth mentioning that the construction quality has steadily improved after entering the site. The anchorage area plates are relatively thick and prone to deformation, and affected by the weather, the initial non-destructive testing pass rate was not high. We faced this actively, identified problems, and traced the root causes. By analyzing various influences, we increased training for workers and supervised them to strictly follow the construction process, ultimately achieving significant progress. This is the result of the joint efforts of every management personnel on site."

Currently, the global economic recovery is slow, and the shipbuilding industry is facing even more difficulties. We will do our utmost to ensure the steel structure project of the Xiaogan No. 2 Bridge, forging ahead in adversity and laying a solid foundation for the diversification of the company's operations.
