On the afternoon of December 1, the 2500TEU container ship "Zhonggu Guangzhou" of Changhong International returned after completing all trial navigation experiments and testing tasks over four days and three nights. The ship has a total length of 179.90m, a length between perpendiculars of 176.85m, a beam of 32.18m, a depth of 16.00m, and a designed draft of 9.50m, making it the first container ship built by Changhong International.
From entering the factory in May this year to launching on October 15, and then setting sail on November 28, the project team overcame tremendous difficulties to reach each milestone. During the process, the project team strengthened communication with the shipowner and ship inspection, quickly responding to their suggestions and striving to provide feedback in the shortest time possible. Despite numerous challenges, with the joint efforts of various departments in the company and the strong support of the shipowner and ship inspection, everyone united and worked hard, ultimately achieving the goal of timely trial navigation.
Due to the main engine being stored in the factory for two years, the inner walls of the pipelines were severely corroded, resulting in a significant amount of cleaning work. In mid-November, the project team began inspecting all oil, water, gas, and electrical pipelines of the main engine, with multiple lines of work being carried out simultaneously to ensure the ship's schedule. Additionally, the CCS inspectors voluntarily gave up their rest time to board the ship and inspect life-saving and firefighting projects. During the trial navigation, all personnel conducted strength tests, speed tests, turning tests, and drone inspections meticulously, with the performance and indicators of all equipment and systems meeting design expectations, especially key indicators such as fuel consumption and speed, which received full recognition from the shipowner and ship inspection, accumulating valuable experience for the subsequent construction of 1000TEU container ships.
In the future, all departments of Changhong will fully promote the completion of the 2500TEU container ship and the elimination of trial navigation feedback to make final preparations for early delivery.
