On the afternoon of February 22, Changhong International signed and delivered the first 250,000-ton bulk carrier "HOUHENG 5" built for Guangzhou Shipyard International. The ship is designed with a draft of 250,000 tons and a structural draft of 262,000 tons, with a service speed of 14.5 knots. The actual EEDI value achieved is more than 20% lower than the baseline value, and the daily fuel consumption of the main engine at CSR point is 64 tons. The main dimensions are: total length of about 327 meters, beam of 57 meters, depth of 25.5 meters, designed draft of 18.1 meters, and structural draft of 18.8 meters. This is currently the largest tonnage vessel built by Changhong. The construction process and welding technology of this ship have reached the latest technical standards in the industry, which also proves that the shipbuilding strength and technical level of Changhong International have reached a new height.
Due to the significant increase in the ship's tonnage compared to previous vessels, higher requirements have been placed on Changhong International's construction process, construction accuracy, and assembly level. On-site employees repeatedly studied the drawings, brainstormed when encountering difficulties, and worked together to overcome challenges. In 2015, General Secretary Xi Jinping inspected this under-construction bulk carrier by the dock and encouraged us to seize opportunities in international competition, enhance confidence, and strive forward. After the General Secretary's visit, every employee at Changhong was full of motivation. To meet the deadline, they worked late into the night to catch up on progress, putting in extra hours to ensure successful delivery.
2017This year, Changhong International also has the delivery task of a second sister ship. Currently, all shipbuilding employees are intensively conducting equipment demonstrations, quality and appearance inspections before the ship leaves the factory, preparing spare parts for delivery, loading ship-supplied materials, and organizing delivery technical documents, making every effort to ensure the smooth completion of the "guarantee delivery" task objective.
