The first ship of the Zhoushan Changhong International 1004 TEU container ship has been launched.

On July 19 at 14:18, Zhoushan Changhong International held a grand naming and launching ceremony for the first 1004TEU container ship (CHB062) at the shipyard. The ceremony was hosted by Assistant General Manager Wang Jiazhen, with the company's president Dai Jiming, JUNGERHANS representative Mr. Sergiy Zhornyk, and John Marshall, the Ningbo area manager of DNV GL, among other guests attending and delivering speeches.

The 1004TEU container ship (CHB062) is the first of eight identical vessels built by Changhong International for foreign shipowners. The ship has a total length of 153 meters, a beam of 24.5 meters, a depth of 11.8 meters, a designed draft of 7.6 meters, a structural draft of 8 meters, a deadweight tonnage of 13,250 tons, and a speed of 18 knots, classified by DNV-GL. It is understood that this batch of new ships is equipped with various advanced equipment and functions, relying on new patents and an innovative cargo loading system, allowing them to quickly and safely load various unconventional-sized containers. Additionally, the vessels are equipped with the latest two-stroke main engines, significantly reducing fuel consumption and lowering transportation costs. All configurations on board are optimized to serve trade between Northern Europe, Ireland, and the UK. The first vessel is expected to be delivered by the end of 2017.

Since the contract was signed and became effective, this batch of ships has received widespread attention both within and outside the industry. With the full support of the on-site supervision team and ship inspectors, the employees of Changhong have devoted themselves to the project construction with enthusiasm, a fighting spirit, and a careful attitude, ensuring the smooth construction of the ship.
