Two 5,300 TEU container ships were grandly named.

On the afternoon of July 29, Zhoushan Changhong International held a grand naming ceremony for the sixth and seventh 5300 TEU container ships (CHB2013, CHB2014) built for the Greek shipowner NAVIOS MARITIME PARTNERS L.P. at Changhong International Dock No. 1.
Mr. Shunji Sasada, President of Navios, Mr. Nikolaos Isaia, Chief Safety Officer, Captain Serafeim Sgourdas, Deputy Manager of the ADK supervision office Mr. Andreas Makroglou, Mr. Tsonos Ilias, Operations Manager of DNV GL South Region, Mr. Dai Yueming, Regional Manager of Zhoushan, Ms. Cao Jiayin, Senior Director of Maiboh Shipping Brokerage Shanghai, and Mr. Dai Yayun, Executive Vice President of Zhoushan Changhong International, along with Mr. Shen Zhihua, General Manager of Shipbuilding, participated in the naming ceremony.
Mr. Shunji Sasada, President of Navios, named CHB2013 as: ZIM PELICAN and CHB2014 as: ZIM SEAGULL.
Mrs. Zhang Xiaoxuan, wife of the Executive Vice President of Changhong International, and Ms. Yin Ruifen, Financial Director, performed the champagne ceremony for the new ship.
The ZIM PELICAN is scheduled for delivery on July 31, and the ZIM SEAGULL is planned for trial sailing in early August. The 5300 TEU series container ship project is the first collaboration between Changhong International and Navios. Since the project commenced, five ships have been delivered, the sixth is about to be delivered, and the remaining four are also planned to be delivered by the end of the year.
At the naming ceremony, the shipowner highly praised the shipbuilding quality of Changhong International and expressed sincere gratitude to all parties who contributed to the construction of the new ship.
Mr. Dai Yayun, Executive Vice President of Changhong International, also thanked Navios, ADK, DNV GL, and Maiboh Shipping Brokerage for their careful guidance, which ensured the smooth delivery of the ships. He stated that the current shipbuilding production situation is flourishing, and in the face of severe delivery tasks, shipbuilding workers must strengthen their confidence and self-pressure, using the successive delivery of this project as a new starting point and opportunity to step up to a higher level of development.
The guests took a group photo with the new ship, wishing it smooth sailing and full cargo, bringing wealth and glory to the shipowner and all cooperating parties.
