On June 26 at 15:58, Changhong International held a grand online naming ceremony for the fifth 5300 TEU vessel (CHB2012) built for the Greek shipowner NAVIOS MARITIME PARTNERS L.P.

The naming ceremony for the new ship was held via online video live broadcast, connecting Changhong International, the Greek shipowner, and Maiboh Shipping.

Attending the naming ceremony were Ms. Angeliki Frangou, Chairman and CEO of Navios, Mr. Shunji Sasada, President, Ms. Eri Tsironi, CFO, Ms. Chara Papaefthymiou, Technical Director, Mr. Schionnemann Lars, Senior Director and Newbuilding Head at Maiboh Shipping Copenhagen, Mr. Serafeim Sgourdas from Navios, Mr. Konstantinidis Christoforos, Site Office Manager of the supervising company ADK, various professional supervisors, Mr. Guan Shengyu, Senior Surveyor and Project Manager from DNV GL Zhoushan, the ship's captain and chief engineer, as well as Mr. Dai Jiming, President of Changhong International, and his wife Ms. Fan Juying, and Mr. Shen Zhihua, General Manager of Shipbuilding.

Ms. Angeliki Frangou, Chairman and CEO of Navios, named CHB2012 as: ZIM FALCON, and Ms. Fan Juying performed the champagne bottle breaking ceremony.

During the naming ceremony, the shipowner highly praised the shipbuilding quality of Changhong International and expressed sincere gratitude to all parties involved in the construction of the new ship.

Mr. Dai Jiming, President of Changhong International, also thanked Navios, ADK, DNV GL, and other units for their careful guidance, which ensured the smooth delivery of the vessel. Changhong International is currently experiencing a busy delivery schedule, and all achievements are attributed to the hard work and dedication of the shipbuilding staff. The 5300 TEU container ship project showcases Changhong International's excellent brand influence in the feeder container ship market.

Finally, guests stood in front of the big screen to take photos with the new ship and distant guests, wishing the new ship to sail smoothly and safely return, bringing wealth and glory to the shipowner and all partners.

The ZIM FALCON will complete the delivery work in the near future.

This ship type consists of a total of 10 vessels, with an overall length of approximately 237.8 meters, a beam of 38.8 meters, and a depth of 21.8 meters, classified by DNV GL. The design concept of this ship type overturns the traditional long and narrow design of container ships, optimizing the hull shape with a wide-body concept, equipped with an optimized low-power main engine, low fuel consumption, and an EEDI energy consumption index more than 30% below the baseline index. It features a 2.5-layer lashing bridge and can carry 3845 14T containers, which is 145-345 more slots than other designs of the same type. It is equipped with a low-sulfur oil system, AMP, SCR, and BWMS, making it environmentally friendly and compliant with the latest regulations.
