On June 7 at 11:18, amidst the festive sound of firecrackers, the first 50,000-ton MR-type chemical oil tanker (CHB5001) built by Changhong International for Pro Tanker Company slowly slid into the sea, successfully completing the launching milestone. After launching, it will enter the dock for overall lifting and subsequent outfitting work at the pier.

As one of the main ship types promoted by Changhong International in recent years, the company has undertaken 4 MR tanker orders from Pro Tanker Company and 4+1+1 MR tanker orders from Horizon Tankers Limited S.A. Currently, there are still inquiries for new construction orders from multiple companies. This ship type has achieved batch orders, marking a new breakthrough in the business expansion of Changhong International.

CHB5001 is classified by LR classification society, with a total length of approximately 182.95 meters, a beam of 32.2 meters, and a depth of 19.10 meters. The vessel is equipped with energy-saving devices, using seawater cooling pumps and fan variable frequency energy-saving technology. The main engine and generator use SCR technology, which can further reduce fuel consumption and meet the requirements of the latest effective regulations, as well as comply with the EEDI Phase III requirements. It is equipped with a new type of washing water system, including a fixed high-efficiency washing machine and a washing water collection tank, providing a convenient method for shipowners to handle washing water in restricted areas. The cargo oil system adopts a flexible and efficient loading design, achieving one pump per compartment, allowing simultaneous loading of 7 types of cargo, which are IMO Class 2, Class 3 chemicals or refined oil. It also uses a new energy-saving device designed by SDARI specifically for this type of MR oil tanker, featuring a fin cap and energy-saving duct, which reduces main engine energy consumption and improves propulsion efficiency.

When the ship is delivered, the classification society will issue GR (ML, A) and EGCS-R (A, S) classification symbols, creating a reliable foundation for future desulfurization modifications and the use of more environmentally friendly fuel methanol in the main engine.

At the ceremony, leaders from Pro Tanker Company, Bank of China Financial Leasing Co., Ltd., SMC supervision company, LR classification society, and Changhong International attended and witnessed this historic moment together.

In recent days, Changhong International has received frequent good news regarding shipbuilding production milestones, consecutively completing the launching of 2 dual-fuel container ships with a capacity of 11,500 TEU, laying the keel for MR tankers, and delivering a 3,100 TEU container ship and a 5,300 TEU container ship. All staff members are invigorated, sounding the 'progress drum' and pressing the 'fast forward button', continuously building momentum to successfully achieve the semi-annual economic targets.
