The country's first 16,000m³ methanol refueling transport modified ship 'Haigang Zhiyuan' has been completed and delivered.

On January 13 at 8:18 AM, amidst the festive sound of firecrackers, Putuo Changhong completed and launched the first domestically built 16,000m³ methanol refueling transport conversion vessel "Haigang Zhiyuan" (originally named Jiuli 668) for Shanghai Port Group, marking the beginning of a new journey in business operations for 2024.
The shipowner (Shanghai Port Energy Service), the designer (Nantong Nordre), and the manufacturer (Putuo Changhong) held a signing ceremony together, marking a successful conclusion to this collaboration.
"Haigang Zhiyuan" methanol refueling transport vessel conversion project is a key new energy conversion project that has received significant attention from the Shanghai municipal government, and it is also regarded by Putuo Changhong as a critical project for ship conversion in 2023. The entire conversion process took 113 days, overcoming challenges such as the cross-operation difficulties of special coatings in the cargo oil tank (Marin line paint) and hot work on deck structure, while also addressing adverse factors like the short design time and late arrival of methanol refueling supporting equipment, leading to high recognition from the shipowner and designer regarding the timeliness and quality of the conversion. They praised the project team's spirit of overcoming challenges, greatly enhancing Putuo Changhong's practical capabilities in dual-fuel conversion vessel projects.
It is worth mentioning that for the special coating of the cargo oil tank, the shipowner chose the American brand Marine line paint, which imposed very high requirements on the height of the cargo oil tank framework, surface sandblasting grade, temperature in the cargo oil tank compartments, control of the paint gun film thickness, and thermal curing after painting. This, in turn, enhanced Putuo Changhong's construction experience with Marine line paint special coatings.
The completion and departure of the "Haigang Zhiyuan" vessel prove that the collaboration between Putuo Changhong, Nantong Nordre, and Shanghai Port Energy Service Group has concluded perfectly.
