Changhong International has received orders for 2+2 vessels of 5,300 TEU container ships.

On November 24, 2021, Zhoushan Changhong International and Greek shipowner Navios signed a contract for the construction of 2+2 units of 5,300 TEU container ships through an online signing method. The planned delivery date for this series of ships is 2024.
The 2+2 ships signed in this contract are follow-up vessels to the 6 units of 5,300 TEU container ships previously signed by Changhong International and NAVIOS.
The total length of the project ships is approximately 237.80 meters, with a beam of 38.80 meters and a depth of 21.80 meters, and they will be classified by DNV GL.
Navios is a publicly listed company in New York, and its group owns over 220 various types of vessels, including tankers, bulk carriers, and container ships; among them, there are more than 40 container ships ranging from 2,800 TEU to 10,000 TEU.
Navios stated that through six months of previous cooperation, the shipowner has given high praise to Changhong International for its quality and efficiency. Both parties are full of expectations and confidence for this cooperation in the new shipbuilding project, bringing a brighter prospect for win-win cooperation.
Since the second half of 2020, the container shipping market has continued to rise. Changhong International has timely seized market opportunities and taken on bulk orders, receiving 25 new orders in 2021, and will continue to expand its market competitiveness in the 5,000 TEU to 7,000 TEU container ship segment.
