Zhoushan Changhong International Shipbuilding Company successfully launched its first 39,000 DWT vessel at Dock No. 1.

May 19In the afternoon, the first ship with a deadweight tonnage of 39,000 DWT built by Zhoushan Changhong International Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. for New Changjiang Shipping (Singapore) Co., Ltd. was successfully launched at Changhong International No. 1 shipyard. This ship was launched using a horizontal ship platform transfer and floating dock connection method for the first time, which is a first in the Zhoushan area. After a simple yet grand ceremony with cannon fire, over 200 witnesses including ship owners, surveyors, and company leaders and employees witnessed this historic moment.
The 39,000 DWT ship has a total length of 179.9 meters, a beam of 30.0 meters, and a depth of 14.8 meters. It can carry grains, coal, sulfur, cement, steel coils, logs, etc., and is classified by BV classification society. It is a green, environmentally friendly, and economical bulk carrier that meets the latest regulatory requirements.
It is reported that during the ship launching process, all aspects of production, quality, technology, and safety at Zhoushan Changhong International were highly coordinated, with preparations made in advance. Real-time monitoring of dock tide levels, slipway heights, and floating dock levels was conducted, allowing for timely adjustments to overcome the uncertainties of the floating dock connection during launching, ensuring the safety and controllability of the entire launching operation. Additionally, this actual ship connection launch verified the safety and reliability of the shipyard's independently designed horizontal ship platform construction and floating dock connection launching scheme.
The successful launch of the first 39,000 DWT ship marks a significant milestone for Zhoushan Changhong International Shipbuilding Company, completing a major node for the company after the new year, laying a solid foundation for the ship's subsequent trial voyage and timely delivery.
