The launching ceremony of the 64,000-ton bulk carrier was successfully held.

On the morning of August 19, Zhoushan Changhong International Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. successfully launched the 64,000 DWT bulk carrier (CHB004) built for New Changjiang Shipping (Hong Kong) Company at the No. 1 shipyard. The vessel was launched using a horizontal shipyard transfer and floating dock connection method. In a simple yet grand ceremony marked by the sound of salutes, company leaders, shipowners, surveyors, and over 200 guests witnessed this exciting moment.
The bulk carrier has a length of 199.9 meters, a beam of 32.26 meters, a depth of 18.50 meters, a designed draft of 11.30 meters, and a deadweight of 63,500 tons. It is classified by the British Lloyd's Register. After a successful launch, it will enter the dock for outfitting and testing, with delivery to the shipowner expected in November.
From the beginning of the ship's construction, the shipbuilding department, under the care of company leaders and the support and cooperation of brother departments, faced difficulties head-on. Through their hard work and efforts, they earned the trust and respect of the shipowner with their high standards in continuous communication. During the subsequent main engine lifting and painting work, continuous rainy weather posed significant challenges. All employees of the shipbuilding department actively demonstrated initiative, overcoming various difficulties to complete the assembly and lifting of the main engine with high quality. The painting department also adjusted production plans, coordinated labor, and worked overtime to complete all ballast tank painting before the launch, ensuring the integrity of the launched vessel and the successful completion of production milestones.
This year5month, General Secretary Xi Jinping inspected Changhong International, which has made us a banner for the development of the shipbuilding industry in our city, as we have been aiming for the development of a world-class shipyard from the very beginning. Changhong people are continuously accelerating the shipbuilding pace, demonstrating a vigorous development momentum. Notably, the manufacturing precision of the ship sections and the quality of assembly have been continuously improving, achieving a significant breakthrough in the integrity of the vessel during launch.
