Changhong International has signed a contract for 4+4 1000TEU container ships with JUNGERHANS MARINE SERVICE and China International Marine Containers (CIMC) Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering Design Research Institute.

On December 2, Zhoushan Changhong International signed a construction contract for 4+4 1000TEU container ships with JÜNGERHANS MARINE SERVICE and the CIMC Shipbuilding and Ocean Engineering Design Institute. Changhong International's president Dai Jiming, the president of the shipowner company Mr. Herm Jüngerhans, and other representatives attended the ceremony. The first ship is scheduled to start construction in 2016 and be delivered in the third quarter of 2017.üThe ship has a total length of 153 meters, a beam of 24.5 meters, a depth of 11.8 meters, a design draft of 7.6 meters, a structural draft of 8 meters, a deadweight tonnage of 13,250 tons, a speed of 18 knots, and is classified by DNV-GL.
It is understood that the signing of this shipbuilding contract is of milestone significance, marking the first foreign shipowner that Changhong International has officially signed with. JÜNGERHANS Shipping Company owns more than 40 modern container and heavy lift ships and enjoys a good reputation in Germany and Europe. They have a young and technologically advanced team. In recent years, this shipping group has gradually expanded its investment, and its market position has been strengthening; CIMC Shipbuilding and Ocean Engineering Design Institute Co., Ltd. (CIMC is a subsidiary of China International Marine Containers (Group) Co., Ltd.), is a research institution specializing in the R&D and design of ships and marine engineering equipment. Changhong International prepared for the signing of this contract for half a year. Business and technical personnel from CIMC and the shipowner visited Changhong's site multiple times, confirming that Changhong is an excellent shipbuilding enterprise with great development potential, and they hope to cooperate with Changhong in the long term.
