On the afternoon of August 1, the "Ocean Oil 942" self-elevating drilling platform, repaired by Zhoushan Changhong International Shipbuilding Company, successfully entered the 300,000-ton dry dock for maintenance. "Ocean Oil 942" is the first drilling platform undertaken by Changhong International for CNOOC Services. The vessel is registered in Tianjin, with a length of 70.36m, a width of 76.00m, a depth of 9.45m, a maximum draft of 6.5m, a height of 167.03m, a gross tonnage of 14,346t, and a total length of 100.08m. This repair is time-sensitive and challenging, with a total of 35 days for the project, including 20 days for in-dock repairs, involving more than 50 repair tasks of varying sizes.

Among them, the more challenging project of replacing the 2nd pile shoe's drilling pipeline is not only our first encounter but also has very high technical requirements. The internal pipeline clearing project of the pile shoe faced complex internal working conditions, and the oxygen and explosion tests alone took more than a week. The replacement of pipelines in the drilling rig, the replacement of steel plates in the ballast tank, and the replacement of steel structures in the oil tank all had to overcome difficulties caused by insufficient lifting capacity. The safety protection measures required during construction are very high, especially for sandblasting, anti-corrosion, and special coating operations, so necessary protective measures were taken for the precision equipment involved in the platform.

Since the "Ocean Oil 942" has a special hull structure and is hexagonal, the water operations are complex, making docking, moving the vessel, and entering and exiting the dock difficult. Before the project began, the design department led repeated discussions to determine various special plans and prepared six related special processes for the docking, entering the dock, and launching of the 942 platform. During the process of entering the dock and launching, the on-site team worked hard to complete the positioning of the platform in the shortest time possible.

Currently, the vessel is docked at the pier, where anti-corrosion treatment will be carried out on the three legs in the range of 90 to 140 meters, and the replacement of the 40-meter diving pump slideway will take place. Since the former involves ultra-high-altitude work, the company has specially hired professional "spider men" for the construction to reduce safety hazards.

Throughout the repair process, Changhong International deployed the best construction team, laying a solid foundation for further cooperation with CNOOC Services through fast and high-quality construction. This marks the company's official entry into the offshore engineering product maintenance field.
