The tenth 5300 TEU container ship CHB2015 was grandly named!

On November 19, 2024, at 13:58, Changhong International held a naming ceremony for the tenth 5300 TEU container ship (CHB2015) of the Greek shipowner NAVIOS at Pier 1.

 

The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests including Ms. Angeliki Frangou, Chairman and CEO of NAVIOS Group, Ms. Tsironi Erifyli, CFO of NAVIOS, Mr. Rosleff Joergen, CBO of NAVIOS, Ms. Babanara Georgia, Executive Assistant to the CFO of NAVIOS, Ms. Chara Papaefthymiou, Technical Director of NAVIOS, Mr. Zheng Zhong, Senior Review Supervisor of CMB Financial Leasing, Mr. Shen Zhihua, General Manager of Changhong International Shipbuilding, Ms. Yin Ruifen, CFO of Changhong International, Mr. Wang Jiazhen, Deputy General Manager and Chief Engineer of Changhong International, Mr. Tsonos Ilias, Operations Manager of DNV GL in South China, Mr. Andreas Makroglou, Site Office Manager of ADK, Mr. Dazhou, and Mr. Schionnemann Lars from Maiboh Shipping Brokerage, along with representatives from Changhong International.

 

 

At the ceremony, Ms. Angeliki Frangou, Chairman and CEO of NAVIOS Group, named the new ship CHB2015 "ZIM ALBATROSS".

The 5300 TEU container ship project is the first collaboration between Changhong International and NAVIOS. Since the project commenced, Changhong's shipbuilding team has made significant progress in technical design, production planning, operational management, and frontline problem-solving, successfully delivering 9 ships that are currently operating well.

 

 

Afterward, the guests took photos with the new ship and toured the vessel, wishing for the new ship to be fully loaded and sail smoothly.

On the evening of November 19, at the grand naming banquet, Mr. Shen Zhihua, General Manager of Changhong International Shipbuilding, delivered an enthusiastic speech, stating that this project is the result of everyone's joint efforts. Through continuous exploration, everyone has made steady progress, successfully creating a new image for Changhong Shipbuilding. He believes that through unremitting efforts, the good cooperative relationship between Changhong International and NAVIOS will become even stronger, and the future will be more prosperous. In the already commenced LR2 tanker project, the Changhong team will surely continue to pursue victory and achieve greater success.

 

Ms. Angeliki Frangou highly praised the shipbuilding quality of Changhong International and expressed her hope to maintain a good cooperative relationship with Changhong International, working together for mutual benefit in the construction of all future vessels.

 

 

Finally, the guests exchanged gifts, symbolizing the close cooperation in the future.

 

The 5300 TEU container ship project consists of ten ships, each approximately 237.8 meters long, 38.8 meters wide, and 21.8 meters deep, classified by DNV GL.
